What was Eartha Kitt's first film?

Eartha Kitt's film debut was Casbah, released in 1948, in which she is uncredited. The Katherine Dunham dancers had been hired for the film, and Katherine Dunham and Eartha had connived with director John Berry to give Eartha a line. She has a line, at the end of a prominent dance sequence. However, the sound was apparently lost, so Eartha is seen saying something but without any sound.
